MCR sign former WNBA draft pick Davis!

Manchester Basketball have snapped up the signature of former WNBA draft pick American Jori Davis.

The New Orleans native is a combo guard playing last season in Spain for Baxi Ferrol. Jori graduated from Indiana University after spending four seasons in college, she was drafted to the WNBA by Indiana Fever where she spent the 2011 pre-season.

Her career has taken her around the globe having played in Israel, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, New Zealand and Puerto Rico! She has played in both the Euroleague and Eurocup for Lyon Asvel and Baxi Ferrol respectively.

'We are really happy to secure the signature of Jori,' commented GM Dominique Allen. 'We really connected ahead of signing and we really like what she can bring to this squad on and off the court.'

'Her experience playing throughout the world will really help us as we reach the business end of the season.'

Head coach Oli Parr commented: ‘I’m excited with the addition of Jori, she adds even more experience to the group that already we have. I'm really looking forward to the impact that she make on both ends of the floor.’

Jori does have ties in the UK having studied at Bishop Hatfield Girls school playing for Spelthern Acers as a kid.

'Being able to come back to the UK, and see the growth of the game and women's sport is beautiful,' commented Jori. 'To be able to come back and be part of it again is great. Manchester is a great city and I look forward to reconnecting with some of the people I know from my previous time over here in high school.'

'I'm happy to be here and I want to provide value in anyway I can on or off the court.
