Manchester Basketball can confirm the appointment of Oli Parr as the new Women’s Head Coach.
Oli started his basketball coaching journey with Manchester Mystics Junior programme before heading to Loughborough College in 2016 to study Sports Management and Coaching.
Parr has spent a wealth of time coaching in Leicester Riders basketball programme across multiple levels, he led Charnwood College to a WEABL title before joining the professional side on the Women's coaching staff. Oli was nominated as Student Coach of the Year at Loughborough Sport in his final season.
"We are really happy to bring Oli to Manchester, it's a bit of a full circle moment for him having started his coaching journey up here," commented Dominique Allen.
"Oli is an upcoming with already a lot of experience for a relatively young coach. We are also delighted we will be working with MMU, where he will also act as head coach in their University programme."
"I'm super excited to start the season off," commented Coach Parr.
"We've got a lot of good people involved within the team which is a huge bonus. We are all eager to get going on the court!"
Manchester Basketball can also confirm that Coach Greg Mbongeni is returning to assist Coach Parr.
MCR fans won't need to wait much longer as we host Caledonia Gladiators on Sunday at 2pm at NBPC - tickets available here.
