Manchester-born shooting guard Kaiyem Cleary has returned home for the 2025-26 season.
It's a full circle moment for Kaiyem, who grew up in Manchester, attending school at Loreto and joining Manchester Magic as a 12 year old. Kaiyem won the National title with the U16s and won the NBL Playoff final with Magic.
Having graduated from Magic, Kaiyem headed to America, playing for Florida Southern, FSW, Ball State and laterly Le Moyne. Cleary broke the scoring record for Le Moyne, his 43 points helping Le Moyne defeat Long Island 87-74 in January 2024.
Kaiyem turned professional last year, playing for Hyères-Toulon in France's LNB Pro B. He made his Senior Great Britain debut in 2024, when GB took on South Sudan at the Copperbox.
"Bringing Kaiyem back home is pretty special," commented General Manager Dominique Allen.
"He grew up around the corner from our home court and played at Magic since the age of 12. We are thrilled to be able to bring a player of Kaiyem's calibre back home and to have him with us for our European challenge is the ENBL."
"We're really excited about the roster we've assembled so far. We can't wait to get things underway."
"I love the culture. I love the people here, it's shaped me," reflected Kaiyem.
"Everything I've achieved in my life is a testament to this city, where I've grown up. I was just a kid from Gorton with a ball and a dream."
"Now I'm back here playing domestically and in European competition. Playing in the ENBL this year is a huge opportunity for the city, and this team. I'm excited for that, especially to have the fans down supporting us in that competition."
"I think my last game at Belle Vue was just before I left for America. I can't wait to be back out there in Manchester colours."
