Manchester Basketball fell 74-62 to the Caledonia Gladiators on the road in the Super League Basketball Championship.
Led by 13 from Kaiyem Cleary and 12 from Gabe Osabuohien, Manchester couldn’t battle back from a second-quarter deficit in Glasgow. It was a difficult three-point shooting night for the visitors, who went 4-25 from behind the arc.
The defeat closes the curtain on a well-travelled week for Manchester, who have played in three different countries in six days. They won in Brussels on Tuesday and in Manchester against the Sheffield Sharks on Friday night, but the miles caught up to them in Scotland to end the week.
Matthew Ragsdale had a game-high 26 points off the bench for Caledonia, who made six threes on the night. Those points from the American were the difference in the game. Ethan Wright supported Ragsdale with 14 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, stuffing the stat sheet.
Manchester are now 3-3 on the season after a 2-1 week, and can prepare for a one-game week featuring SLB Trophy action.
Manchester return home for a local derby in the Trophy Group Phase against the Cheshire Phoenix on Friday, November 7. The game starts at 7:30 pm at the National Basketball Performance Centre.
