Powerleague & Manchester Basketball Announce Partnership as Playoff Campaign Begins

Powerleague and Manchester Basketball are pleased to announce a new partnership, bringing together two organisations with strong ties to the Greater Manchester sporting community.

With Manchester Basketball’s playoff campaign now underway, the partnership will see Powerleague feature on the team’s playing kit, marking the start of a collaboration at a pivotal moment in the season.

Both organisations share a commitment to growing participation in sport and engaging local communities. With an established footprint across Greater Manchester, Powerleague continues to invest in opportunities that connect people through sport, while Manchester Basketball plays a key role in representing the city on a national and European stage, with new grassroots initiatives in the making.

This partnership reflects a shared ambition to strengthen those connections further, combining Powerleague’s football reach at grassroots level with Manchester Basketball’s presence in elite competition. Together, the two organisations aim to inspire more people across the region to get involved in sport, whether that’s on the court, on the pitch, or as part of the wider fan community.

Louis Hakner, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer at Powerleague, said:
"We’re really pleased to be partnering with Manchester Basketball as their playoff campaign gets underway. Greater Manchester is a hugely important area for us, and this collaboration allows us to support a team representing the city at a high level while continuing to build meaningful connections within the local community."

Claire Bradbury, CEO, Manchester Basketball, said:
“Sport is part of Manchester’s DNA so to bring together basketball and football is a unique partnership, where community sits right at the heart.  We are thrilled to partner with Powerleague as we establish MCR Basketball on the elite stage and begin to make an impact on the grassroots game. Connecting communities and inspiring the next generation of players is something both our organisations are passionate about.”
