Pitkin & Adetukasi called up for GB

We are delighted to announce that Matt Pitkin has been called up to Great Britain to become an assistant coach with the men's senior team and Tim Adetukasi has received his first International call-up.

Both will take part in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, with games against Lithuania and Iceland set to determine the team’s fate in the opening phase of qualification. GB will face Lithuania in Klaipeda on 2 July before returning home to take on Iceland at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester on 5 July, looking to secure the results required to ensure the team’s passage to the next phase of qualification for only the second time in programme history.

Coach Steutel’s side will head to Barcelona this week for an extended preparation period in Catalunya, where GB will take on the Catalan Basketball Federation in a friendly fixture in Manresa on June 28, before travelling to Lithuania to commence the final steps of this phase of World Cup qualifying.
