American guard Max Jones is the latest signing for Manchester Basketball, as he puts pen to paper on his first professional contract for MCR.
6'5" Jones, who hails from Clearwater, Florida, spent five years in college basketball beginning his journey with his hometown Tampa University (2020-22), before heading west to Cal State Fullerton (2022-24), and latterly Kansas-State (2024-25) starting 114 of his 117 college games.
Max totalled 1710 pts during that college career which included twenty-seven 20pt games and six 30pt games. Max was selected to the All-Big West Honorable Mention team as a junior in 2022-23 and 2021 & 2022 First Team All-Sunshine State Conference. He had a career-high 39 pts against former Leicester Riders head coach Billy Mims' Florida Tech in 2021.
"I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to sign with Manchester," reflected Max.
"This is a big step in my journey, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got, on and off the court. I’m looking forward to joining a great team, representing the city, and making an impact.”
General Manager Dominique Allen commented on signing number seven of the summer:
"We are really happy to bring in Max. We've been impressed with what we have seen of him - his impact on defence and ability to create and score on the offensive side."
"He's already had invaluable experience in his five years in college. We're excited to have him on our roster."
