Manchester Basketball have added American centre Matthew Nicholson to the 2025-26 roster.
Nicholson, who hails from Clarkston, Michigan, started all 33 games for Northwestern University last year, averaging 5.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game in 24.4 minutes per game. The 7ft centre had five successful seasons at the Wildcats which included a 40 block season in 2023-24 and two March Madness runs.
"“I’m thrilled to join Manchester basketball and be part of such a dedicated organisation," commented Nicholson.
"I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and being part of this exciting journey ahead."
Matt becomes the sixth signing of the summer for Manchester following Kyle Carey, Tim Adetukasi, Cody John, Zak Irvin, and Kayne Henry on the roster.
"Matt's a player that we signed early. His size and mobility are really impressive, he's up there for blocks in the big ten and we've been impressed by him on the offensive end of the floor" commented General Manager Dominique Allen.
"We're looking forward to welcoming Matt to Manchester. He's an important signing for us."
