Manchester Basketball's Nicholas Lewis has won the first honour of the post-season as he scooped the Molten Community Champion Award for his tireless work away from Super League Basketball action.
As the Director and Owner of multiple programmes — including Youth Sports Pathway, Dream Chasers Global, Dreams Are Real, and Make It Work — Nick delivers hundreds of training hours each week, impacting countless young people across Sheffield, Manchester, and Derbyshire.
His initiatives provide individual development opportunities, free sessions for at-risk youth, and national league pathways for players from U12 to senior men’s level. Beyond coaching, Nick supports communities through school visits, outreach projects, and by supplying custom sports apparel to clubs nationwide. His work has created safe, inclusive spaces where young people can thrive on and off the court.
Reflecting on his win, Lewis said:
"Basketball was my first dream and it still drives everything I do, but as a professional athlete, I know my purpose extends beyond the court. Greatness isn’t just measured in points or trophies, but in the opportunities we create.
"I’m building platforms where young people can believe their Dreams Are Real, and once they believe, we show them how to Make It Work. Thank you for recognising that purpose and honouring me with the Molten Community Champion of The Year award."
Manchester Basketball Head of Operations Dominique Allen added:
“Nick has been a real champion in the community through Make It Work and Dream Chasers.
“He has a great way of connecting with kids to help them on their journey into adulthood. He has given back to so many across Manchester and Sheffield. We are delighted for him that this work has been recognised through this award.”
Well done Nick from all at Manchester Basketball.
