Nicholas Lewis has signed for Manchester Basketball to become the first signing in franchise history and keep the British-Canadian in Manchester for a third straight year.
31-year-old Lewis has spent the majority of his career in the British professional league, the Scarborough native having played last season for the Giants where he averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.7 steals through 36 games.
The 6’3” guard is entering his tenth professional year and has a career average of 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game over 288 games.
Lewis played the majority of his career for Sheffield Sharks where he won the Trophy in 2013 in his first pro season, after he became the first Canadian to go from High School to turn professional.
In the 2015-16 season he headed to play for Vince Macaulay and Nigel Lloyd’s London Lions team who he would later sign for in Manchester.
“It’s a new wave, but the same love for the city and the fans,” reacted Lewis.
“I have to say a big thank you to Manchester for bringing me back. It’s my third year in this amazing city.”

Lewis has represented both Canada and Great Britain at junior international level winning an Americas Championship bronze medallist at Under-16 level with Canada, and a silver medallist with Great Britain at Under-20 European Championship Division B level.
Lewis will be back in front of the Manchester home fans against Newcastle Eagles on Sunday 19 September at 3pm. All normal tickets for the Eagles home opener are priced at £10.
