Irvin returns to MCR

Manchester Basketball can confirm the signature of American Zak Irvin for the 2025-26 season.

Irvin established himself as a key player for the squad last season and was named the club's Defensive Player of the Year for 2024-25.

"Zak is an important signing for us. He was fantastic in his spell with us last season, he really embraced being here and being apart of what we are building," commented general manager Dominique Allen.

"We recognise it's great for us to maintain some continuity with the right players. His experience and leadership in the group will be important for us."

Having been recruited mid-season, Irvin played 24 games for Manchester last term averaging 9.4 pts per game in the league and a 67.5 2pt%.

"I am blessed & grateful to return for another season," commented Zak.

"Last year our team was able to generate a buzz and momentum that we are looking forward to build off of. Basketball is continuing to grow all over the world, especially in Manchester and I’m excited to be a key part of our continued success."

Zak had a stellar college career with D1 NCAA powerhouse Michigan where he spent four seasons from 2013-2017. He was named as Indiana Mr Basketball and the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2013.

After graduating from Michigan, Zak spent two seasons in the NBA G-League with Westchester Knicks. In 2022 he joined Bank of Taiwan where he had two years ahead of a return to the NBA G-League with Grand Rapids Gold.
