Manchester's own Irene Oboavwoduo has been called up to the senior Great Britain squad for the upcoming FIBA Women’s EuroBasket qualifiers.

At just 17, Irene made her debut for Manchester Basketball this season having cme through the academy pathway at Manchester Mystics. The young guard from West Gorton steps up to the senior squad having played throughout the GB age group teams.

Manchester fans will get a chance to see Irene play next Wednesday (12 Nov) when they tip off their campaign against Switzerland in front of a home crowd at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

"We are thrilled for Irene," reflected Dominique Allen. "It's a fantastic testament to Irene, her coaches and support at GB age groups, Manchester Mystics and now Manchester Basketball that she's now set to make her senior debut."
