Introducing MCR Pro-Am

Manchester Basketball have launched MCR Pro-Am, a series of games aimed at professional & amateur players competing over the month of July. It's an elite level event, open to pros (SLB/overseas), semi-pros (NBL), US-based college players, and top junior national team level players.

Pro-Am's are a regular occurence in the major cities in the states with NBA stars playing alongside local league players most notably in the Drew League in LA, Pro City in New York and Miami Pro League.

In 2021 Hoopsfix launched the Hoopsfix Pro-Am Summer League at Brixton Recreation Centre in South London, it's now in it's fourth year. Played over four weeks the Manchester edition has already attracted elite rosters with Great Britain stars Patrick Whelan, Myles Hesson, Jamell Anderson and Kaiyem Cleary all confirmed to make an appearance.

With a focus on high-level competition, the competition gives a platform to some of the UK’s top players, many of whom are based overseas or rarely appear in organised domestic action.

This first year sees four teams compete with four general managers who are well-known in British Basketball circles:

- Deansgate Warriors (GM: Jordan Whelan)
- Team Hollywood (GM: Holly Bryan)
- Make It Work (GM: Nicholas Lewis)
- Clarity Crew (GM: Jordan Dawes)
