Great Britain decorated guard Georgia Anderson has signed for Manchester. It’s a return home for the Manchester native who has previously played for the Mystics and Giants in her hometown.
Georgia has had a stellar playing career having studied in America at Oral Roberts University before returning to the UK to play for Barking Abbey.
She represented Loughborough Riders in the 2013-14 season and Leicester Riders from 2014 before returning to the North West in 2016.
“I’m excited to be playing again this year and to be part of such a talented group of players,” commented Anderson.
“We have a lot of potential and I'm eager to contribute in any way I can to help make us successful. I’m really looking forward to seeing how far we can go and what we can accomplish together this season.”
Georgia’s family are synonymous with British Basketball. Her dad Jeff coaching the Mystics and Giants teams. Brother Callum is the current head coach of Manchester Basketball men’s team after a career which including playing with brother James at Manchester Giants, and husband Jamell plays at Sheffield Sharks.
A Great Britain regular, Georgia, made her Team England debut at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia and won a silver medal.
Anderson will be in action for Manchester when they take on Nottingham Wildcats in the Trophy on Saturday 12 October.
