Georgia Anderson makes Manchester return

Great Britain decorated guard Georgia Anderson has signed a new contract and joins the women's roster for the 2025-26 season. Georgia spent last season with MCR having also played for Mystics and Giants in her home city.

Georgia has had a stellar playing career having studied in America at Oral Roberts University before returning to the UK to play for Barking Abbey.

She represented Loughborough Riders in the 2013-14 season and Leicester Riders from 2014 before returning to the North West in 2016.

“We couldn't be happier to have Georgia return for a second season with the franchise,” commented Dominique Allen.

“Everyone knows how talented she is as a player but to have that experience in the group is invaluable. She's a role model in the British game and will help the development of our younger players - Irene and Fleur.”

"It’s amazing having Georgia around," reflected head coach Oli Parr. "She brings a wealth of experience and intelligence to the team.

Georgia’s family are synonymous with British Basketball. Her dad Jeff coaching the Mystics and Giants teams, where her Brothers Callum and James played. Georgia's husband Jamell is a Great Britain International and one of the most decorated players in the British game.

A Great Britain regular, Georgia, made her Team England debut at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia and won a silver medal. She is currently closing in on the British all-time league scoring record in the women's game.

Anderson will be in action for Manchester today when they take on Nottingham Wildcats in the SLB Trophy.
