Manchester Basketball suffered their first defeat of the season away to Surrey 89ers, 94-80.
Pjay Smith was named the CultureBox Player of the Game after a career high of 34pts, Smith previously had hit 32pts twice in college.
The first quarter was a fairly even affair Max Jones and a break away dunk from captain Zak Irvin setting the tone early on, but Surrey did hold a lead at the quarters end 23-18.
The second quarter saw the game turn in Surrey's favour despite a late rally from Manchester, Pjay Smith leading the comeback, the niners were still ahead by seven at the break.
After the break, Surrey extended their lead further, and despite winning the final quarter the damage had been done in the third.
Manchester will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday against Keila in their first ever European game in the ENBL - tickets are available here for just £6.
