Manchester Basketball beat French Pro-A side SIG Strasbourg in the Landolt Cup, 82-79.
Zak Irvin was named as the game Landolt Cup while Max Jones' 17 points gave him the Player of the Game for MCR. In the first half it was SIG Strasbourg who set the pace and found themselves 29-15 ahead at the end of the first.
The French side were still ahead at the break, 46-33, but the third was a different story with Pjay Smith Jr, Kaiyem Cleary and Max Jones starting to exert their authority. By the end of the third, Manchester were up two, 62-64, with a 31 point quarter.
As the game entered the fourth, momentum was with the British side, and as the final moments played out MCR kept the gap and pushed out to a 78-82 win.
The result signals the first win for a British side over a Pro-A opponent since March 2023, and lines up a top four finish in the Landolt Cup for Manchester who now face Fribourg Olympic in the third place play-off at 4pm (UK time).
