Game Report: Sheffield Hatters 94-61 MCR

Manchester Basketball fell 94-61 on the road to the Sheffield Hatters in the Super League Basketball Women’s Championship.

Frannie Hottinger led Manchester’s efforts, logging a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She was backed by Irene Oboavwoduo, who had 11 and 4.

It was a difficult shooting night for the visitors, who struggled to find the bottom of the basket with a 4-22 performance from three-point range.

That was against a 40% deep shooting night from the Hatters, who were locked in from behind the line. Shauna Harrison led the host’s efforts with 20 points and 6 rebounds.

Manchester hung tough until midway through the second quarter, staying within touching distance of Sheffield. But the game got away from them going into the half, and they trailed by 19 going into the third.

From there, Sheffield were able to see the game out in the second half.

The loss means Manchester fall to 1-3 in the SLBW Championship.

Manchester are back on the road for their next matchup, heading to the capital to take on the London Lions. The SLBW Championship game takes place on Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 pm.

They return home on Sunday, December 21, playing the Oaklands Wolves at the NBPC.
