Manchester make it three wins one three in the league after a dominant victory against Cardiff Met Archers.
Anastasia Warren impressed for Manchester making 15 points with four three-pointers from six attempts. Her off ball movement allowed her to get open looks from beyond the arch.
Once again Danni Williams impacted the game for Manchester scoring 20 points 10 rebounds 5 assists.
For Cardiff Met Archers it was Abigail Yunker who was most impactful. She scored 12 points 4 rebounds 4 assists.
Whilst it was a slow tempo to the first quarter Manchester were still able to dominate. Bride Kennedy-Hopoate started the scoring quarter for Manchester as she made a lay-up. She followed this by making a three-pointer continuing her good form from beyond the arch. Danni Williams was able to draw contact on a jump shot she made and was able to convert the extra point. To end the quarter Eva Karasaite made a three-pointer to give Manchester a 26-16 lead.
Manchester upped the tempo in the second quarter and looked to move the ball quicker. In the first minute of the quarter they were able to score seven points thanks to buckets from Bride Kennedy-Hopoate, Lauren Thomas-Johnson and Davida Dale. Manchester switched to a zone defence and this allowed them to get more defensive stops as they forced Cardiff Met Archers to run the shot clock down and put up highly contested shots. Eva Karasaite once again made a three-pointer to end the scoring in the quarter for Manchester as they took a 54-26 lead into halftime.

Manchester didn’t let up the defensive hustle as they restricted Cardiff Met Archers to just 10 points in the quarter. This is evidenced by a Georgia Anderson steal and blocks from Bride Kennedy-Hopoate, Anastasia Warren and Danni Williams. Warren once again made another shot from beyond the arch showing her effectiveness on both ends of the court. The zone defence continued to work for Manchester as they were able to stop Cardiff’s effectiveness on the offensive end. Keeping up the effort all game defensively shows the spirit of this team and their willingness to keep competing no matter what the situation. Manchester won the game by a margin of 47 points, 97-50.
