Manchester Basketball lost out to Swiss Playoff Champions Geneva Lions 75-77.
Manchester led after the first quarter 24-18, and by the half, the lead had extended to 45-37. Kayne Henry and Matt Nicholson adding punctuation dunks to solidify the sides' dominance.
The third saw Geneva come back however, limiting Manchester's offence to just 10 pts. The Lions would finish the quarter 55-56 up with just a quarter left in the opening game.
The final quarter saw Geneva hold out, despite a late flurry that brought Manchester level through Irvin, Geneva again edged ahead and despite an opportunity to tie level with the level possession the game finished 75-77.
Pjay Smith Jnr led the scoring for MCR posting up 19 points, Zak Irvin added 12 pts and was named Player of the Game.
Manchester are back in action on Friday as they face French side SIG Strasbourg.
