Ali graduated this summer after five years with Akron, where he had posted an impressive resume. This past year, he was selected to the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, named to the All-MAC Tournament team, named to the First Team All-MAC and named in the preseason All-MAC Preseason First Team.
Ali became the 49th player in Akron history to record 1,000 points as a Zip, finishing his career 41st in career scoring at Akron (1,090). He averaged 33.1 minutes per game, averaging 15.5 points per game, having scored a season-high 29 points against Gardner-Webb (21st Dec). Ali led the Zips in assists 14 times.
Ali, who also spent time with Butler, had NBA draft workouts and was invited to a minicamp with Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of their summer league in July.
